The Project Accountant manages the financial aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role partners closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to monitor budgets, analyze financial performance, and deliver actionable insights to support project success.
What You'll Do
Financial Management & Reporting
  • Serve as the financial liaison for assigned projects, supporting Project Management with accurate and timely reporting.
  • Oversee project accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking actual costs against budgets.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports on project performance in alignment with accounting standards.
  • Manage project-related billing processes and perform reconciliations.

Financial Analysis
  • Analyze project costs, identify variances, and provide detailed explanations to stakeholders.
  • Compile and evaluate financial data to support operational decision-making.
  • Perform return-on-investment analyses for capital expenditures and provide recommendations.

Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Ensure all project financial activities adhere to company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and improve project accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Risk Management
  • Identify financial risks associated with projects and recommend mitigation strategies.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Communicate with customers regarding billing, costs, and audit requests.
  • Represent the organization professionally, upholding high standards of integrity and ethics.

What You'll Get
Working Conditions:
The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment. Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
Benefits Overview:
IME provides an industry-leading comprehensive benefits package. Full-time employees are eligible to choose from a variety of healthcare coverage options, which become effective the first of the month after hire. In addition, employees are offered a substantial amount of PTO and are immediately eligible to make contributions to a generously matched and fully vested 401k.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000
*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*

Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $85,000.00/Yr. - USD $115,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
