Job description

Description:

Lovell Arena is a new, state-of-the-art, 117,000-square-foot ice hockey arena and recreation center located on the South Shore of Boston, just minutes from Route 3 in Rockland, Massachusetts. Our goal is to provide the best possible on- and off-ice experience for players, parents, coaches, and children of all ages. Our facility includes three NHL-sized ice surfaces, a goalie training surface, gym, pro shop, bowling alleys, golf simulators, arcade, and Top Shelf Bistro bar and restaurant.


Lovell Arena is seeking a part-time Zamboni Driver to support weekend operations. This position will primarily be scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and will include both daytime and nighttime shifts 10-20 hrs/wk.

The Zamboni Driver will focus on ice resurfacing, facility upkeep, cleaning, and general maintenance while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Responsibilities
  • Maintain and resurface all ice surfaces.
  • Perform general facility cleaning and maintenance.
  • Provide prompt, professional, and friendly customer service.
  • Use hand tools to remove debris and clean equipment.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials.
  • Inspect and check mechanical units.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain professional behavior while on duty.
  • Respond quickly and safely to changing facility needs and priorities.
Schedule
  • Approximately 10–20 hours per week.
  • Must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Both day and night shifts will be scheduled.
  • Holiday availability may be required based on business needs.
  • Shift times may vary depending on arena events and operating schedules.

Requirements:Qualifications
  • Experience operating ice-resurfacing equipment is preferred.
  • Lovell Arena may be willing to train candidates who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, safety awareness, and a willingness to learn.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Experience working in a safety-focused environment.
  • Customer service experience, including handling challenging situations.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, safe decisions.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a cold environment while wearing appropriate heavy work clothing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Adequate close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must successfully complete a background check.
