Karat is seeking talented U.S.-based engineers ready to commit to a dedicated, availability-based contract through Q3 2026.
We are seeking U.S.-based contractors to join our Interview Engineer community with consistent, dedicated availability of 40 hours per week through Q3 2026
This is a fixed-term, four-month engagement with a structured weekly availability commitment through Q3 2026. You will hold a consistent block of hours each week during which you are available to conduct interviews, including short-notice requests. Availability outside of standard business hours and on weekends is welcome.
This is a strong fit if you are between full-time positions, on a planned leave from your current role, or looking for consistent, meaningful contract work over a defined period.
  • Commit to a consistent weekly availability block of 40 hours to accept and conduct interview asstructuredsignments, including short-notice requests; evenings and weekends are welcome.
  • Conduct structured 60-minute technical interviews through Karat's platform across domains such as back-end, full-stack, front-end, and system design.
  • Submit thorough written evaluations of each candidate's coding approach, technical knowledge, and communication skills.
  • Maintain Karat's standards for structured, inclusive, bias-mitigated interviewing throughout your engagement.
This contract will be a good fit if you have:
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience conducting technical interviews, either through a formal employer program or independently
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills; clear, efficient evaluation write-ups matter here
  • A reliable home setup: stable internet connection, working webcam, and microphone
  • Genuine availability to hold a consistent weekly block for the full three-month term; this is not a pick-up-when-you-want arrangement
