Location:            Corona, California                    Position Type:  Full-time

Salary Range:    $76,400.00 - $82,400.00 per year     

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Transportation Supervisor to join our Logistics team! The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and improving the transportation operations across our Corona and Salinas facilities. This role manages daily routing, driver supervision, fleet utilization, and transportation cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, optimize operational performance, and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a refrigerated distribution environment preferred.
  • Understanding of distribution, shipping, and receiving processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service regulations, FMCSA regulations, and Class A CDL requirements preferred.
  • Valid CDL with a clean driving record and current Medical Card is preferred.

Responsibilities

  •  Supervise drivers through strong leadership and communication; foster teamwork across Operations and other L36 departments.
  •  Promote and enforce safe work practices; conduct regular safety checks and coaching.
  •  Review driver routes to ensure profitability, productivity, and accuracy; maintain daily logs and reports.
  •  Negotiate competitive rates with third-party carriers and maintain detailed cost records (demurrage, layovers, day rates, overtime, etc.).
  •  Review and approve transportation invoices with accuracy.
  •  Partner with Accounting to streamline billing processes.
  •  Monitor load temperatures to ensure product integrity.
  •  Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all federal and state transportation regulations.
  •  Review CSA records and implement corrective actions to improve safety compliance.
  •  Lead accident and injury investigations as needed.
  •  Maintain accurate and timely transportation documentation and databases.
  •  Drive cost-efficiency initiatives within transportation operations.
  •  Coach team members and address performance gaps.
  •  Provide feedback to drivers based on observations and ride-alongs.
  •  Assist with and provide backup support for payroll processing for the transportation team as needed. 
  •  Communicate delivery issues with Customer Service.
  •  Oversee transportation operations and team performance across the Corona and Salinas facilities.
  •  Work flexible shifts based on business needs.
  •  All other assignments, responsibilities, and projects assigned by management.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, twist, sit, climb stairs, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary.
  • Ability to work in a wet/dry and hot/cold (34*) environment as needed.
  • Frequent travel up to 25%.
  • Ability to climb ladders, and ability to crawl under and climb onto machinery and equipment as needed.
