What are weekend trading card stores?

Weekend trading card stores are retail shops that specialize in buying, selling, and trading collectible trading cards—such as sports cards, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh!—primarily operating on weekends. These stores often host events, tournaments, and provide a community space for enthusiasts to gather. Their limited weekend hours cater to hobbyists who are often free on Saturdays and Sundays, making them a popular destination for collectors and players. Many of these stores also offer appraisal services and may buy collections from individuals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a weekend trading card store employee, and why are they important?

To excel as a Weekend Trading Card Store Employee, you need a good understanding of trading card games, strong customer service skills, and basic retail knowledge, often supported by prior retail or hobby store experience. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and card authentication tools is typically required. Effective communication, enthusiasm for trading cards, and the ability to engage with diverse customers are valuable soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure smooth store operations, foster a welcoming environment for enthusiasts, and drive customer loyalty during busy weekend hours.

What are some common challenges faced by staff working in weekend trading card stores, and how can they be addressed?

Staff in weekend trading card stores often face challenges such as managing high customer traffic during peak hours, staying updated on popular card trends, and ensuring inventory is accurately tracked. Excellent customer service skills are crucial, especially when assisting both seasoned collectors and newcomers. To address these challenges, team members typically work collaboratively, dividing responsibilities like checkout, restocking, and event hosting, while regular communication with management helps maintain a smooth workflow and a welcoming atmosphere.

TikTok Live Card Breaker / Streamer (On-Camera)

Las Vegas, NV • On-site

$30 - $60/hr (+ commission)

Full-time

This job post has expired 1 day ago. Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

SuperStation Las Vegas, NV | In-Person Only | $30–$60/hour (Base salary + Commission)

Think you've got what it takes to entertain thousands of people LIVE while ripping trading cards and hosting breaks? SuperStation is building one of the most exciting live breaking teams in the country, and we're looking for energetic, outgoing personalities who understand, collect, and appreciate the hobby to join us on camera.

This isn't a side hustle.
This isn't sitting behind a desk.
This isn't just another sales job.

You'll host LIVE trading card breaks and box rips on TikTok, calling out all big pulls in real time, interacting with viewers as we hunt for chase and case hits, and helping some of the world's biggest card brands connect with collectors.

Whether you have experience with live breaking, TikTok LIVE, Whatnot, eBay Live, Fanatics Live, sales, or simply love the hobby and entertaining people, this could be your opportunity to turn your personality into a career.

What You'll Do

  • Host high-energy LIVE trading card breaks and pack opens on TikTok
  • Showcase sports cards, entertainment/non-sport cards, and TCG
  • Sort, sleeve, and organize cards accurately during and after breaks
  • Engage with viewers through chat, shoutouts, and hobby talk that keeps them watching and buying
  • Collaborate with brands and the studio team to plan breaks and build hype for upcoming shows

You are a PERFECT FIT if you...

  • Love being on camera
  • Naturally connect with people
  • Have a fun, energetic personality
  • Know trading cards, sports/entertainment cards, TCG products, and enjoy the hobby
  • Stay positive under pressure, even when a break gets chaotic
  • Want to build a career in live breaking and live shopping

Experience with TikTok LIVE, Whatnot, Fanatics Live, eBay Live, streaming, content creation, sales, or breaking is a plus. Familiarity with sets, teams, players, or current hobby trends is a strong plus.

Requirements

  • Must be local to Las Vegas and able to commute
  • This is an in-person position (not remote)
  • Comfortable being live on camera for extended periods
  • Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred
  • Willing to learn, improve, and have fun while doing it

Compensation

  • $30–$60 per hour (base + commission)
  • Preference for full-time applicants, part-time applicants will also be considered

This is a performance-driven live breaking position, not a passive hosting job.

How to Apply

As part of the application, you'll complete a short series of videos that let your personality shine.

You'll introduce yourself, respond to real-world break scenarios, and show us how you'd connect with an audience.

No professional equipment or polished production is needed. We're looking for authenticity, energy, and confidence.

Please note: Video submissions are required. We review only complete applications in which all required video responses are submitted.
