Job description

Description Salary Range: $81,450 to $101,825 per year Purpose of Position: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations that support Processing operations within the Prepared Foods Division. This position supervises maintenance employees and ensures equipment is maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner while meeting production, food safety, and regulatory requirements. Essential Job Functions:Establishes daily priorities based on production demands, equipment condition, food safety risks, and operational needs. Responds to equipment failures, troubleshoots problems, and ensures repairs are completed in a timely manner. Maintains accurate maintenance records in SAP, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment repairs, and breakdown documentation. Reviews equipment performance, identifies recurring problems, and implements corrective measures to improve reliability and reduce downtime. Works closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, and Engineering to support production schedules and equipment performance. Assists with the installation, modification, and startup of new or upgraded equipment while ensuring compliance with Ready-to-Eat (RTE) requirements and hygienic design standards. Maintains a safe work environment by enforcing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work requirements, machine guarding standards, and other safety procedures. Ensures compliance with USDA, GMP, HACCP, environmental, and company food safety requirements. Maintains proper control of lubricants, chemicals, allergens, tools, maintenance materials, and maintenance debris to prevent contamination risks within RTE production areas. Supports regulatory inspections, audits, and corrective action plans as required. Leads, trains, and develops maintenance employees by providing daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback. Operates within a union manufacturing environment and administers the collective bargaining agreement consistently and fairly. Works with union representatives, Human Resources, and plant leadership to address employee concerns, attendance issues, work assignments, discipline, grievances, and contract interpretation. Manages maintenance labor, parts inventory, and maintenance spending while supporting production schedules and equipment availability. Conducts an end-of-shift review to verify completed work, equipment condition, housekeeping, and readiness for sanitation and production operation Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in industrial maintenance, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment. Previous supervisory experience in a union manufacturing environment preferred. Experience working with collective bargaining agreements, grievance procedures, and labor relations preferred. Experience in Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food manufacturing preferred. Knowledge of USDA, GMP, HACCP, environmental, and food safety requirements. Experience using SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and automated production equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance documentation. Strong organizational, planning, and supervisory skills. Ability to lead employees, assign work, and hold employees accountable for safety, attendance, and performance expectations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and respond to changing production and maintenance needs. #LI-KP1
