Job description

Place Services, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Refrigeration Startup Technician to be located out of the Knoxville, TN area. The work radius is primarily in NC, AL, TN, SC, and GA. This position will require both day and night shift work and offers a highly competitive compensation package.

The Refrigeration Startup Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing parallel rack refrigeration systems commonly installed in supermarkets and retail facilities. Assist Install Team in the relocation and modification of refrigeration equipment as needed. They will be a support to other technicians and installers as a resource for information and guidance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Travel to customer locations to install and set up refrigeration systems according to specifications and design plans. Ensure all components are properly connected and calibrated for efficient operation
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to refrigeration equipment; troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system problems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities. Document equipment specifications, performance data, and troubleshooting procedures for reference and future analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all installation and maintenance activities. Conduct thorough inspections to verify adherence to quality assurance protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate project timelines and objectives. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

What You Bring:

  • High School/GED and either Completion/Certification from an HVAC-R Technical School or 2 years of experience in HVAC-R is preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in the direct onsite service and repair of parallel rack refrigeration systems
  • As a employee of Place Services, this individual must have solid professional written and verbal skills needed to grow and maintain customer relationships
  • Available to work nights and/or weekends.
  • Must be physically able to walk distances, bend and crouch, climb ladders work at high elevations and lift/carry objects up to fifty pounds, repetitively and for an external period.
