Job Description

We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Developer with strong Java and CMS (Liferay) experience to support the development, upgrade, and sustainment of Command View (CV/UCV) applications across classified and unclassified environments.ย 

This role focuses on end-to-end development, including front-end, back-end, and database layers, as well as system configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation within a secure, mission-critical setting. The successful candidate will also play a key role in knowledge transfer and operational standardization.ย 

This is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

Full-Stack Developmentย 

  • Design, develop, andย maintainย full-stack CMS-based applications (front-end, back-end, and database)ย ย 
  • Develop custom modules for Liferay (Portal and DXP) using Javaย ย 
  • Build and enhance user-facing features using JavaScript (ES5/ES6+), HTML, CSS, and Node.jsย ย 
  • Integrate and manage Oracle and PostgreSQL databasesย ย 

System Maintenance & Supportย 

  • Support the upgrade, configuration, and troubleshooting of CV (Classified) and UCV (Unclassified) environmentsย ย 
  • Diagnose and resolve application defects, performance issues, and system bugsย ย 
  • Perform testing and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of applicationsย ย 

DevOps & Development Practicesย 

  • Use Azure DevOps for source control, versioning, branching, and CI/CD processesย ย 
  • Maintainย structured development workflows using Git and Agile methodologiesย ย 
  • Support deployment activities within secure, closed network environmentsย ย 

Documentation & Knowledge Transferย 

  • Develop andย maintainย technical documentation, SOPs, and deployment proceduresย ย 
  • Document processes with clear steps and supporting artifacts (e.g., screenshots)ย ย 
  • Deliver training sessions to users and internal teamsย ย 
  • Provide ongoing knowledge sharing andย maintainย detailed development recordsย ย 

Collaboration & Reportingย

Qualifications
  • 5โ€“10+ years of relevant softwareย development experienceย ย 
  • College diploma or University degree in computer science, Engineering, IT, or related disciplineย ย 
  • Minimum 5 years of Linux experience (building, configuring, administering servers) within the last 10 yearsย ย 
  • Strong experience in full-stack development within CMS platformsย ย 
  • Hands-on experience with:ย ย 
    • Java (JRE/JDK) and backend developmentย ย 
    • Liferay (Portal and/or DXP) customizationย ย 
    • JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.jsย ย 
    • Database development (Oracle/PostgreSQL)ย ย 
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile development practicesย ย 
  • Experience with testing, debugging, and bug resolutionย ย 
  • Experience administering andย maintainingย Linux environments (RHEL, Alma, Ubuntu)ย ย
