Position Overview

Life Line Counseling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in a full-time remote role, primarily supporting students and their families in a school setting. This position plays a crucial role in addressing various emotional and social challenges faced by youth, enhancing their overall well-being and academic success.

About the Organization

Life Line Counseling is a community-focused organization based in Olathe, Kansas, committed to delivering comprehensive mental health and social services to vulnerable populations. Our approach emphasizes collaboration with community partners, advocacy for social justice, and a person-centered methodology. We specialize in a diverse array of social services that include case management, crisis intervention, counseling, and community outreach, striving to empower individuals and foster sustainable solutions to social barriers such as homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, and poverty.

Work Environment

This full-time position operates in a primarily remote capacity, allowing flexibility while maintaining a strong focus on client interactions and support. Regular business hours will be followed, with occasional evening and weekend commitments to accommodate client needs and educational programming. Our team values a collaborative environment, encouraging openness and the sharing of resources and expertise to best serve our client population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough client assessments to identify social, emotional, and environmental challenges affecting studentsโ€™ mental health and stability.
  • Develop tailored service plans that set specific goals and interventions, and monitor progress regularly to ensure effective support.
  • Provide individual and family counseling, applying evidence-based therapeutic interventions to resolve challenges and promote positive outcomes.
  • Guide clients in navigating community resources, linking them with services such as housing assistance, healthcare, and educational support.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies as necessary, including risk assessments and safety planning to safeguard clientsโ€™ well-being.
  • Collaborate with educational staff, parents, and community organizations to coordinate services effectively and advocate for studentsโ€™ needs.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives designed to raise awareness about mental health services in the schools, fostering community engagement.
  • Attend case conferences and staff meetings to discuss client progress, share insights, and contribute to ongoing team training and development.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on school-aged children and their families, particularly those facing obstacles related to mental health conditions and socio-economic challenges. By working directly in a school environment, the LCSW will address issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and the impact of trauma on educational performance, thereby creating a healthier learning environment for all students.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is essential.
  • Possession of an active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required.
  • Strong foundation in social and economic justice issues, with a keen awareness of community resources and support systems available for clients.
  • Exceptional communication skills, cultural competence, and the ability to problem-solve in high-pressure situations.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working within a social service agency or school setting is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed care approaches and understanding of mental health impact on students.
  • Familiarity with local community resources available for families in need is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $100,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications. In addition to financial compensation, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:

  • Extensive health insurance coverage, including options for medical, dental, and vision care.
  • Retirement plan with an employer match, designed to promote long-term financial security.
  • Generous paid time off policy that encompasses vacation days, personal leave, and recognized holidays.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development to enhance clinical skills and stay updated on best practices.
  • Access to various additional perks and support systems throughout the organization, including a sign-on bonus.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Life Line Counseling, we are invested in the professional growth of our team members. As an LCSW, you will have the opportunity to expand your skills through ongoing training and development programs tailored to your needs. Potential career pathways within the organization include specialized training in therapeutic techniques, leadership roles, or program development positions that can elevate your impact on community health initiatives.
