Position Overview

Life Line Counseling is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This position provides a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the mental health of vulnerable populations in Overland Park, Kansas, through individual and family counseling, advocacy, and comprehensive case management.

Work Environment

This full-time position will be performed remotely, allowing for flexibility while connecting with clients through various digital platforms. The role may occasionally require evening or weekend hours to accommodate the needs of clients and program activities. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients’ social, emotional, and environmental challenges, utilizing tools like standardized screening questionnaires.
  • Develop individualized service plans based on assessment findings that set clear, achievable goals, plan interventions, and outline progress monitoring mechanisms.
  • Provide counseling services to individuals and families, tailoring therapeutic approaches to meet their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate with clients in formulating personalized service plans, ensuring they are connected with essential community resources, such as housing support, employment services, and mental health programs.
  • Deliver crisis intervention services, conduct risk assessments, and create safety plans tailored to individual client situations.
  • Work collaboratively with community agencies and organizations to coordinate services effectively, advocating for clients' needs and rights.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives that highlight the importance of mental health services and promote Life Line Counseling’s offerings in the community.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing staff training to enhance collaborative practices and maintain high standards of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients consist of diverse groups, including individuals and families grappling with various life challenges. Many of our clients experience significant barriers due to socioeconomic factors; thus, our focus is on providing holistic, therapeutic support that fosters resilience and personal empowerment. The role will entail addressing issues sensitive to trauma and integrating trauma-informed care methodologies into practice.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
  • Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a must.
  • A strong understanding of social and economic justice issues, community resources, and effective trauma-informed care practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, cultural competence, and the ability to engage clients from diverse backgrounds are vital for this position.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a social service agency or similar setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving direct counseling or case management.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and services available to clients in Overland Park is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems to maintain accurate client records and progress notes is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
