Security Officer - Temp to Perm
•Pay: $18.00/hour

•Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 PM–2:00 AM (30 hours/week)

•Additional Hours: Weekend shifts may be available at the same hours and pay for those seeking additional hours.

•Position Summary

Per Mar Security Services is seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Physical Security Officer to provide security services at a newly constructed apartment community.

•This is a temporary position with hours available through the winter. There is the possibility of permanent employment based on business needs and employee performance.

•This is an unarmed position. Officers are not authorized to carry firearms, weapons, ammunition, or other protective devices or gear while on duty.

•Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional, visible security presence.
  • Deter unauthorized persons from entering or remaining on the property.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and report suspicious activity.
  • Conduct documented hourly interior and exterior patrols.
  • Observe and report disturbances, property damage, safety hazards, and suspicious behavior.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to incidents.
  • Complete accurate activity logs and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, property management, and Per Mar supervisors.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a courteous, professional, and authoritative presence.
  • Help maintain a safe, secure, and quiet environment for residents.

•Qualifications

The ideal candidate is:

  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
  • Personable while maintaining authority when needed.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Observant, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
  • Able to work primarily indoors while conducting scheduled exterior patrols.
  • Comfortable using computers and surveillance systems.

•Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Wisconsin Security License through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).*
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer applications.

•Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous security experience.
  • Overnight or third-shift experience.
  • Access control or entry point monitoring experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

•Physical Requirements

  • Walk and stand for extended periods as needed for patrols.
  • Conduct hourly interior and exterior patrols.

  • Respond quickly to incidents.
  • Sitting between rounds.
