Job description


Regions Hospital has an exciting new job opportunity for a Medical Secretary - Laboratory.
As the perfect candidate for this position at Regions Hospital, you are flexible, energetic and creative, and thrive supporting an innovative and collaborative team of professionals.
In this role, you will be a key partner to our pathologists and other pathology laboratory staff, supporting efficient pathology case workflow from start to finish.
Responsibilities include:
  • Distribution of cases to our pathologists.
  • Coordinating send out of materials for external testing or patient continuation of care.
  • Assisting with result management, when needed, to ensure accurate and timely case completion for our patients.

This role requires a high level of competence in utilizing multiple computer applications, excellent telephone etiquette, and strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.

Work schedule: FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly) Day/Evening Shift
Required Qualifications:
Education: High school graduation or equivalent
Experience: Four (4) years of clerical experience. Medical Secretary certificate may substitute for experience requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Medical Secretary Program completion.
Experience: One year experience with completion of course work in medical legal guidelines, business communications, and medical office procedures.
