Job description

This position will start and train on first and you will be moved to 2nd after training is complete.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work as directed by the Warehouse & Packaging Group Leader in the packing operation.
  • Prepare supersacks, paper bags, and pallets.
  • Inspect outbound trucks for sanitation and structural integrity.
  • Record and document truck inspections accordingly.
  • Ensure outbound/inbound trucks are properly sealed.
  • Operate a packing line.
  • Operate a forklift and stretch wrapper.
  • Stack bags and pallets (up to 100 lbs) in specified pallet configurations.
  • Verify at regularly scheduled intervals that package weights are accurate.
  • Assist truck loader and milling staff as needed.
  • Complete assigned cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Proactively offer facility and system improvements.
  • Report any issues involving food safety and sanitation.
  • Report any observed unusual activity regarding site security.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Willingness to work all shifts and weekends when required

Physical Demands

Physically able to perform all requirements including but not limited to:

  • Ability to walk stairs and climb up and down.
  • Perform general cleaning and mill maintenance.
  • Assist with general mill repairs.
  • Ability to pack/lift up to 100 lb sacks.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibrations.
  • Occasional exposure to hot, cold, and/or humid conditions.
  • May occasionally work in environments where exposure to certain chemicals or electrical components is possible. All necessary safety protocols and protective equipment are provided.
  • Loud working conditions.
