Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver mental health services tailored to foster student wellness, academic success, and retention through outreach, prevention activities, and individual counseling.

  • Provide crisis counseling and interventions for students in distress, ensuring timely assessments and follow-ups.
  • Engage with students, faculty, and staff to educate them on mental health issues, offering consultation on best practices to support those experiencing psychological challenges.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records while adhering to federal and state laws concerning patient privacy.
  • Utilize the Maxient system to track student support referrals and update records accordingly, streamlining communication among the counseling team.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will center primarily around college students, supporting their mental health needs amid academic pressures. You will address a variety of health-related concerns, including anxiety, depression, substance abuse issues, and other psychological challenges. The diverse backgrounds of our clients demand flexibility and a culturally sensitive approach to counseling.

Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • Licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent is essential, as we cannot accept applicants with an associates license due to Medicare billing requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, to facilitate documentation and communication.
  • A self-motivated attitude, capable of independent work without extensive supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a fast-paced environment effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing mental health counseling in a higher education setting is preferred but not mandatory.
