Job description


North Central Utility (NCU) is looking for a self-motivated and results-driven Mobile Service/Trailer Technician to represent NCU in the semi-trailer service industry.

North Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. We offer reefer, dry van and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin - we sell new and used semi-trailers. With Moore Space, we offer temporary storage container solutions as well. Our parts department has an extensive inventory in Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor and Trailer parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensures we are a โ€œOne Stop Shopโ€ for truck and semi-trailer parts. Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models. No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians.

This position is a safety-sensitive position, requiring pre-employment and post-accident drug testing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

โ€ข Perform a variety of trailer repairs

โ€ข Perform preventative maintenance on trailers

โ€ข Perform DOT inspections on trailers

โ€ข Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair trailer bodies, systems, and components

โ€ข Inspect, service, and replace trailer parts

โ€ข Test all systems and equipment for performance issues

โ€ข Compile inspection reports, document repairs and report findings to manager

โ€ข Respond to mobile service calls

โ€ข Use and promote industry best practices

โ€ข Maintain and promote a safe work environment

โ€ข Use and promote PPE and the use of safety equipment

โ€ข Perform any related tasks assigned to them

โ€ข Assist Service Manager and/or Shop Foreman as needed

Qualifications:

โ€ข High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

โ€ข Basic set of tools and previous experience preferred

โ€ข Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

โ€ข Driver's License (Required)
