Reefer Technician

Location: Irving, TX
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift Available

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Reefer Technician to join our team in Irving, TX. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigerated trailer units (reefers) to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have diesel mechanical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair refrigeration units on trailers and trucks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services on reefer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and HVAC-related issues.
  • Repair and replace components including compressors, evaporators, condensers, belts, sensors, wiring, and lighting systems.
  • Conduct DOT inspections and document repairs accurately.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and electronic repair tools.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.
  • Complete work orders and service reports using tablets or computer-based systems.
  • Communicate repair findings and recommendations with management.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working on reefer units, diesel equipment, trailers, or heavy-duty trucks preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
