Job description

Behavior Technician (BT) - $18–$20/hour + Bonus | No Experience Required

All Together Autism (ATA) | Full-Time & Part-Time | Clinic, Home, School & Community Pay: $18–$20 per hour, plus a bonus upon completion of your RBT Competency Check

Work That Actually Matters

If you've ever been told you're great with kids, endlessly patient, or the person friends call when they need someone dependable - you may already have what it takes.

You don't need an ABA background or a psychology degree. You need a high school diploma, reliable transportation, and a real desire to help children grow. We'll teach you the rest - and pay you along the way.

What Is a Behavior Technician, Anyway?

Great question - and a common one.

As a BT, you'll work one-on-one with a child on the autism spectrum, using play-based, evidence-driven techniques to build real-life skills: communicating, making friends, following routines, managing big feelings, and gaining independence.

You won't figure it out alone. Every BT works under a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who designs each child's program and coaches you through it. All of our BTs become Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and some go on to become BCBAs or to careers in psychology, education, speech, or occupational therapy and more. This role is a launchpad.

What You'll Do

  • Provide one-to-one ABA therapy to children ages 2 and up
  • Follow individualized treatment plans from your supervising BCBA
  • Turn playtime, snacks, and transitions into learning moments
  • Collect accurate data and complete session notes
  • Partner with families and your clinical team to celebrate every win

Pay & Perks

  • $18–$20 per hour, based on experience and credentials
  • Bonus paid when you complete your RBT Competency Check - we invest in your growth and reward it
  • Clear path from BT to RBT
  • Benefits available for FT positions

What You Need

Required: High school diploma or equivalent • Completion of the 40-hour RBT training course before your start date • Pass the BT competency checklist in week one • Pass a background check • CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days • RBT certification within 120 days of hire • Reliable transportation and a smartphone • Punctuality and follow-through

Nice to have: Associate's degree or psychology coursework • Experience with children with autism or developmental delays • Spanish-speaking

Helpful skills: Strong English communication (written and verbal), comfort with email, spreadsheets, and Central Reach, good time management, adherence to RBT Ethical Guidelines.

Schedule

Monday–Friday with possible weekends. Afternoon and early evening availability is key - most of our kids are in school during the day. Full-time and part-time options available.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs at times • Prolonged sitting on the floor or chair, bending, moving quickly • May require physically restraining individuals (with training) • May involve noise or temperatures beyond typical comfort • Local travel between clients.

Why ATA?

We provide child- and family-centered services for those on the autism journey, helping families coordinate care that drives real, positive change. Our values guide daily work: Partnership, Honorable, Safe Space, and Celebrate Individuality.
