Position Summary
The Ultrasound Supervisor reports to the Director of Imaging Services and provides day-to-day operational, clinical, and staff leadership for the hospital ultrasound department. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered ultrasound services in accordance with established protocols, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. The Ultrasound Supervisor serves as a clinical resource for sonographers, partners closely with radiologists and imaging leadership, supports staff development and performance, and promotes efficient departmental operations, patient flow, quality outcomes, and service excellence.

Work Environment: This position functions in a hospital imaging environment with exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and cleaning agents commonly used in patient care areas. This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and assisting with patient positioning and equipment movement. This position may require lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds and assisting patients with varying mobility levels. This position also performs administrative work in a standard office environment and may be required to work varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and call coverage based on departmental needs. This position serves a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population ranging from neonatal to geriatric patients.
