Job description

B-Shift Production Supervisor

Maco PKG | Newark, NY | 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM | $25–$30/hr DOE

The Role

Maco PKG is hiring a B-Shift Production Supervisor to own the night shift — not just watch it. You’ll lead a team of production employees and coordinate directly with the night maintenance crew to keep operations moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule. When something goes sideways at 11 PM, you’re the one who figures it out.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You won’t be sitting in an office. You’ll be on the floor, solving problems, holding people accountable, and making calls that keep production on track. If that’s where you do your best work, keep reading.

What You’ll OwnShift Leadership

You run the shift. That means monitoring staffing, tracking productivity and downtime, keeping production on schedule, and communicating clearly with management when issues arise. You’re the point person for the entire shift, maintaining operations through shutdown and preparing the facility for the next shift.

Production amp; Maintenance Coordination

When equipment goes down, you respond fast. You’ll work alongside the maintenance crew to prioritize repairs based on production impact, minimize downtime, and push for process improvements that make the whole operation run better over time. Mechanical aptitude isn’t required, but it goes a long way here.

People Management

You’ll coach employees, address attendance and performance issues directly, and build a shift culture where accountability is the norm — not the exception. You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room, but your team needs to know where they stand and what’s expected.

Safety amp; Quality

You’ll enforce safety policies, GMP standards and quality expectations while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. You'll be responsible for making sure employees follow procedures correctly, address issues before they impact production, and report accidents, concerns, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Who We’re Looking For

The right candidate has led people in a manufacturing environment and knows what it actually takes to run a night shift. You don’t need a degree. You need to be reliable, direct, and capable of making good decisions when no one’s looking over your shoulder.

You should have:
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in manufacturing or production
  • Strong communication skills with your team, with maintenance, and with management
  • The ability to stay calm and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid attendance history and a track record others can count on
  • Basic computer skills for tracking production data and reporting
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when operations require it
You’ll stand out if you have:
  • Experience in packaging, food manufacturing, or another GMP/regulated environment
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience coordinating with a maintenance team
  • Forklift experience

Physical Requirements

This is an active, on-your-feet role. You’ll stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and work in and around manufacturing equipment throughout your shift.

Compensation amp; Benefits
  • Pay: $25–$30/hr based on experience
  • Health/Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k)
  • Advancement opportunities - we promote from within

Why Maco PKG

We’re a packaging manufacturer that takes operations seriously. We’re not looking for someone to fill a slot - we’re looking for a supervisor who takes ownership of their shift and helps build a stronger team over time. If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in running a tight operation and developing the people around you, this role is for you.

Apply today and tell us about your manufacturing leadership experience.
