We are seeking a Billing Specialist!!

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-focused, forward-thinking behavioral health organization dedicated to supporting individuals on their path to health and well-being. We meet people where they are—in their homes and communities—and connect them with the resources they need. Serving Southeastern and Central Ohio, ISBH provides a comprehensive range of behavioral health and related services, collaborating with local partners to promote healthy individuals and strong communities. All services are designed to be collaborative and personalized to each individual.

The Billing Specialist is responsible for processing client billing and supporting revenue cycle operations to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for behavioral health and related services. This role is primarily focused on Medicaid billing but may also include Medicare and private payer claims. The position will have a specialized focus on billing and follow-up, ensuring accurate claim submission, tracking, and resolution.

The pay range for this position is $23.85 - $28.02 per hour.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide billing services for ISBH and its external customers.
  • Complete billing-related activities including, but not limited to the following:
    • Claim EDI creations for various payers.
    • Self-pay claim processing
    • Payment posting
    • Claim denial investigations and remediation
    • Carelogic Billing / AR configuration and setup
    • Interact with payment/clearinghouse portals
    • Communicate the status of tasks
    • Support ISBH staff and external customers to resolve common errors.
  • Interact with ISBH staff and external customers positively, providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of:
    • Ohio’s Behavioral Health Payment Environment
    • Carelogic software and Billing / AR functionality
    • Ohio MCO billing requirements
    • ISBH and customer-required content.
  • Attend internal and external training as needed.
  • Participate in special projects as requested by the Billing Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required, a bachelor's degree, is preferred.
  • Three years of experience working in Ohio behavioral health Medicaid billing.
  • Three years of experience using an electronic health record system to process claims, experience with Carelogic preferred.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of cultural awareness.
  • Ability to effectively communicate through verbal/written expression.
  • Must be able to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment.
