Job description

Davis-Standard is a global leader in the design, development and distribution of extrusion and converting technology. Our systems encompass product lines to support manufacturing applications and customers in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, building & construction, consumer products, medical, and packaging. We have an opportunity in our Pawcatuck, Connecticut location for a Packer-Crater to join our Shipping & Receiving team. This position is responsible for the expediting materials in our Shipping & Receiving department.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Plan and construct special and nonstandard skids, crates, and containers.
  • Pack according to domestic and/or overseas shipment requirements.
  • Check product for protection of machine areas, coverage, etc.
  • Weigh, mark and identify shipments.
  • Process all paperwork to be included and all items included.
  • Performs all rigging and movement of machines to shipping.
  • Load to carrier vehicles, block and secure for proper transit.
  • Operate woodworking machines to cut components of skids, crates, and containers.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • High School or Technical School Diploma
  • Experience setting up, operating and maintaining wood working equipment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
