Company Description Inland Empire Paper Company, operating in Millwood Washington since 1911, strives to be the industry leading custom ground-wood paper supplier through highly efficient production methods, first-in-class customer service, and market defining employee capabilities. Job Description Inland Empire Paper Company seeks an experienced individual to join our Mill Operations Supervisor team. This salaried position works closely with superintendents, other shift supervisors, operations and maintenance to oversee the daily and nightly operation of the mill. After initial mill operations orientation and training, will be assigned to a rotating shift crew. These are four 12 hour shifts of both days and nights with multiple days off between each rotation and does include working some weekends and holidays per the shift rotation schedule. Responsibilities:
  • Supervise hourly union employee workforce to insure safe and consistent operation of the facility.
  • Resolve shift crew staffing issues, oversee crew training, development and guidance.
  • Monitor production operations and report on daily activities (both oral and written).
  • Provide daily manufacturing process support and problem solving to improve production efficiency including troubleshooting, decision making, data management and analysis.
  • Work with superintendents to improve processes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs while maintaining environmental compliance and protection.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management or other Technical field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, problem solve and execute solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
  • Proficient project management and organizational skills with experience preparing oral and written shift reports.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of pulp & paper manufacturing or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Additional Information
  • The Production Supervisor - Shift Operations is a salaried position. Pay range is $78k to $95k per year depending on experience and education.
  • Inland Empire Paper Company continues to offer excellent benefits to employees and their families including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, 13 paid holidays per year and 2 weeks of vacation to start (pro-rated first year based on hire date). Some holidays may be worked depending on the crew rotation.
