Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Radiation Oncology- Tenure or Clinical Track

We are seeking our next Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Radiation Oncology. Come work in a vibrant academic oncology program in one of the country's most dynamic and thriving Veterinary Schools! Louisiana State University has an open clinical or tenure-track faculty position for a Radiation Oncologist to join our team of two medical oncology faculty, one radiation oncology faculty, four residents (three medical oncology and one radiation oncology), and five full-time oncology nurses. We have a busy combined clinical service that is supported by a comprehensive diagnostic imaging service, specialty surgeons, clinical pathologists, and a full complement of specialty services. Our 21EX linear accelerator with on-board imaging including cone beam CT is capable of SRT, IMRT, 3D conformal, and electron radiation treatments. We also have a strontium probe. In addition, we are rapidly building up a clinical trials program and have clinical and laboratory support staff that are equipped to facilitate additional clinical trials. We are also members of the Comparative Oncology Trials Consortium (COTC). We're excited to add another faculty member to our dynamic group!

LSU has openings for clinical or tenure-track, and professional-track Radiation Oncologists.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Radiation Oncology- Clinical Track

  • 70% Provide clinical expertise and deliver radiation therapy services for all species during clinical track position.
  • 30% Scholarly activity to include teaching and research

Minimum Requirements:

Assistant Professor: DVM or equivalent degree; Successful completion of a Residency program; Board certification or board eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (Radiation Oncology)

Associate Professor: DVM or equivalent degree and 5 years of related experience; Board Certification in ACVR (RO).

Full Professor: DVM or equivalent degree and 8 years of related experience; Board Certification in ACVR (RO).

Minimum Certifications/Licenses:

Board certification or board eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (Radiation Oncology)

Preferred Qualifications:

DVM or equivalent

Special or Physical Qualifications (ALL LEVELS):

Per PS 18- This position is a part of the Emergency Response Personnel - these personnel are linked with the hospital during any emergency response event and are expected to report in and perform as outlined in the emergency response plan.

Physical Requirements-Required to be cable of lifting more than 50 pounds, standing or walking for prolonged periods, vision near sight, vision far sight, able to reach below the shoulder, pushing, pulling, grasping, sitting, bending, crawling, squatting, and/or twisting.
