About this Job Our mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to serve the Veteran population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, nursing, restorative and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion, and provide services. Overseer of four wings that includes supervising the LPN, CNA and RNs. Join the State of Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home, where you'll step into a leadership role as a Registered Nurse Supervisor B that combines clinical excellence with genuine care for those who serve.

Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following: Four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A bachelor's degree in nursing plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A master's degree in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A doctorate in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Plans, directs, and delivers resident care on assigned units, including shift coordination, staff reassignment, and direct patient care as needed (e.g., administering medications, treatments, and assessments)

Supervises and evaluates performance of subordinate staff, including conducting performance evaluations, managing disciplinary actions, and supporting professional development through in-service training. Collaborates with nursing leadership and other departments to ensure 24-hour continuity of care and maintain a safe, effective environment for residents. Completes clinical documentation such as the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), Minimum Data Set (MDS), and updates care plans based on residents' evolving needs.

Investigates and reports complaints and unusual occurrences, documenting findings and proposing plans of action to Nursing Administration. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational Work Schedule: Hours are 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m

with rotating schedule which includes working every other weekend. Compensation: SPECIAL ENTRANCE RATE: $2919.20 BI-WEEKLY / $36.49 PER HOUR; PREMIUM PAY: + $7.00/HR - Worked Hours Only Shift Differential: This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.
