Job description

Since 1967, Midwest Pool Management has delivered unparalleled pool management services, creating safe, professional, and positive aquatic environments. Midwest Pool Management is hiring Leadership Positions (Assistant Managers and Managers) for the upcoming summer season. Assistant Managers and Managers play a critical role in ensuring aquatic facilities meet the excellent customer service and safety standards associated with the Midwest Pool Management name. Leadership positions enforce all facility, company, and local health department rules, regulations, and guidelines.

This role is ideal for individuals who are organized, responsible, proactive, and able to lead a team in a fast-paced environment. We offer flexible scheduling, convenient facility placement, and opportunities to build leaderships skills, strengthen communication, and make a direct impact on the guest experience.

Schedule & Pay

  • Schedule: Mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Employment Type: Part-time, Seasonal (May - September)
  • Pay: Starting at $17.50 per hour

Qualifications

  • Must be 15 years of age or older by the date of their Lifeguard Certification Class
  • Ability to swim
  • Available to work flexible hours to meet staffing needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to respond to emergencies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, and guests
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and transport 50+ feet to perform rescues or move equipment/chemicals safely

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility adheres to the highest safety standards and take action to correct unsafe or potentially dangerous areas
  • Be visible and accessible while on duty; handle a variety of situations calmly, helpfully, and assertively, and know when to ask for assistance
  • Lead and supervise Lifeguard staff, ensure they follow facility rules and conduct audits to monitor performance
  • Maintain open and professional communication with guests, staff, Field Supervisors, District Managers, the MPM Office, and Clients
  • Create staff schedule, know the schedule, and arrive at work on time
  • Always present yourself professionally through both appearance and attitude
  • Check and adjust chemicals; fill out daily checklists, inventories, and reports as needed
  • Ensure all areas are organized, clean, and visually appealing, including bathrooms, deck, guard office, and pump room
  • Attend meetings with Supervisors and Clients as required
  • Attend regular in-service training (minimum of 4 hours per month)
  • Knowledge of and adhering to the 15-Year-Old Employee Guidelines
  • Wear the required company uniform while on duty

Certifications & Training

  • Lifeguard Certification required (StarGuard Elite or equivalent). Lifeguard training is available and must be successfully completed prior to working
    • The Certification Course covers emergency response, first aid, CPR, and AED use - skills that are essential for responding quickly and confidently to emergencies
