Job description

Provides direction for employees responsible for the upkeep of buildings and grounds, the repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery, and modifications to the structure or layout of the facility. Works with vendors and monitors inventory of supplies. Organizes work, estimates worker-hour requirements, and delegates work to employees in the CNC room, Die Room and Maintenance department. Initiates or recommends personnel actions and administers organization's policy. High school education or equivalent required and five to seven years experience leading people.

1. Die Room: Primary responsibility is supervision of employees, who construct, maintain, calibrate, and repair machine shop tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments and dies. Supervise employees while operating various machine tools. Perform highly-skilled work such as arranging, fitting, and assembling parts. Assist designers and engineers in development work, including skilled fitting, timing, adjustment, and construction of tools. Assure the development, construction, repair, maintenance and calibration of dies needed to support the companyโ€™s production goals and objectives.

2. CNC Room: Primary responsibility is supervision of employees, who use EDM sinkers, CNC machines, precision tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments and dies. Assist designers and engineers in development work, including skilled fitting of trim tooling, adjustment, and construction of fixtures. Assure timely production of forge, trim and coin tooling to support the companyโ€™s production goals and objectives.

3. Maintenance: Oversee the overall plant maintenance program, to ensure the control of maintenance and repair costs. Monitor and initiate necessary action required to maintain or improve the plant equipment operating efficiency. Own the usage of โ€œon-line preventive maintenanceโ€ (eMaint) system. Investigate, compare and recommend new service vendors. Evaluate cost and time effective alternatives for repairs.

4. Leadership: Develop, mentor and coach employees in the accomplishment of company goals and objectives including performance planning and appraisals with subordinates. Recommend or determine hiring, disciplinary and termination actions. Responsible for 14-16 direct reports. Drive for results and provide focus and clarity to all team members. Assist in developing company policies. Interact with customers to ensure requirements are met. 5. Safety: Maintain adherence to safety and housekeeping requirements.

5. Perform other duties as assigned.ย 

This role has a salary salary range of $89,000 to $133,000. In addition, youโ€™re eligible for competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Klein Tools Inc.
