Job description

We are excited to announce that we will be undergoing a selection process for a Business Unit Leader (BUL) in our One Water Midwest business unit. This role is critical to strengthening client partnerships, driving strategic growth, and delivering high-quality projects that reflect Mead & Hunt's commitment to excellence.

As a Business Unit Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the direction of the One Water Midwest business unit, mentoring high-performing teams, and advancing meaningful projects that improve water/wastewater projects and infrastructure across the region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops business and marketing plans and is responsible for meeting business plan goals
  • Monitors financial metrics and makes adjustments when required
  • Identifies and recommends resource needs to group leader
  • Monitors and controls staff productivity; approves position requisitions
  • Conducts annual performance appraisals for direct reports
  • Assesses client satisfaction, conducts regular check-ins with clients, and follows up with action items
  • Leads marketing efforts including proposals, client presentations, go/no-go decisions
  • Is responsible for project administration issues (i.e. legal and contract issues etc.)
  • Implements and monitors QA/QC plan
  • Coordinates with group leaders, business unit leaders, and department managers both within and outside the assigned business unit
  • Oversees all employees in the assigned business unit; however, direct reports consist of managers of departments within the assigned business unit
  • Other duties as assigned

This position requires travel, overnight stays, and evening or weekend work as assigned.

Successful candidates will have all of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a professional field from an accredited college or university
  • At least seven (7) years of relevant experience in consulting or related field

Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:

  • At least ten (10) years of relevant experience in consulting or related field
  • Appropriate professional registration(s)
