Voyage Healthcare is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. This is a remote position; however, candidates must have the flexibility to work onsite at our Corporate Office in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota as needed.

The hourly range for this position is $22.50 - $28.00. Pay is based on years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Select appropriate service and diagnosis codes to ensure accurate billing and reporting of services performed
  • Collaborate with Voyage Healthcare providers to ensure proper coding and documentation of services rendered
  • Performs internal auditing of coding and documentation according to department guidelines and when requested by provider, Coding Supervisor, and Revenue Cycle Manager
  • Assists Insurance Specialists in answering patient questions via telephone call que regarding coding and reviewing coding and documentation as needed
  • Maintains current knowledge regarding coding and diagnostic procedures
Requirements:
  • Current certification from AHIMA or AAPC
  • Completion of an accredited coding program or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of three years coding experience in primary care or GYN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding required
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office products preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and perform a variety of diverse coding tasks
