Charge Entry Specialist 

Job Type: Temporary 
Assignment Length: Through September, with a strong possibility of extension
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $27/hr 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Enter physician and procedure charges into the electronic medical record (EMR) and billing system.
  • Verify CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review provider documentation and encounter forms for missing or incomplete information.
  • Ensure charges are entered accurately and within established productivity standards.
  • Correct charge entry errors and communicate documentation issues with providers and clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with coding, billing, and accounts receivable teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with month-end reconciliation and other revenue cycle duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in medical billing, charge entry, or medical coding.
  • Some coding experience is preferred, but candidates with strong medical billing experience will also be considered.
