Mechanic (Diesel/Gas) โ€“ Diagnostics & Repair | Part-Time Weekends - HOURLY

Coastal Health Systems of Brevard โ€“ Fleet Maintenance

We are seeking a part time weekend mechanic who can diagnose issues, troubleshoot failures, and perform repairs independently to keep our ambulance fleet operational.

At Coastal Health Systems, every vehicle we maintain supports our community's medical needs. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and understands that reliability is critical.


Schedule
  • Part-time: up to 24 hours per week
  • Weekends required
  • Additional hours may be occasionally available based on operational needs

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on gas and diesel engines
  • Perform repairs to restore safe and reliable operation
  • Use diagnostic tools and onboard systems to identify failure points
  • Interpret symptoms and determine appropriate repair solutions
  • Test drive vehicles to confirm repairs
  • Complete repair orders and document work performed
  • Communicate findings and recommend preventative solutions
  • Assist with preventative maintenance as needed
  • Follow all safety, OSHA, and HIPAA standards

What Weโ€™re Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Hands-on mechanical experience with ability to work independently
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair (gas and/or diesel)
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Valid Florida Driverโ€™s License (must meet insurability requirements)
  • Compliance with Drug & Alcohol Free Workplace Program
  • Provide own hand tools required for the role

Preferred:

  • ASE certification(s) or actively working toward certification
  • Experience with vehicle diagnostics and computer systems
  • Trade school or equivalent hands-on experience

Work Environment
  • Hands-on mechanical work in a fleet maintenance setting
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, and mechanical equipment
  • Must be able to safely lift/move equipment as required
