Job description

The Town of Brookline Library system is seeking customer service oriented professionals for part-time Library Assistant positions at the Brookline Village library. These positions perform administrative and support work relating to processing and shelving of library materials; charging and discharging books; circulation functions; assisting patrons with information on collections, policies, procedures, and the use of computers.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma, experience working with the public and knowledge of computers is required. Must be available weekends and evenings. Hours scheduled are typically 16 hours per week.

The ability to work patiently and politely with the public and the ability to communicate library policies and procedures effectively is required. Additional language skills such as Chinese, Spanish, and Russian are a plus.

Hiring is contingent on ability to work an assigned schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
