Job description

Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are looking for machinists to join our team in Tualatin, Oregon . We embrace the GWC philosophy (Gets It, Wants It, Capacity to Do It). Qualified candidates must possess the skills necessary to successfully function in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude/skills and attention to detail with many avenues for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts.
There are four shifts available:
Day Shift: Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.;
Swing Shift: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.;
Weekend Day Shift: Friday through Sunday, 5 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.;
and Weekend Night Shift: Friday through Sunday, 5 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
All shifts are full-time, and the off shifts are eligible for an industry-leading shift differential .
This position is on site (not remote/not hybrid) and not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities: Include, but not limited to:
  • Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
  • Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
  • Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
  • CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls are a plus.
  • Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol.
  • CNC 3 axis experience, 4 & 5 axis machining experience is a plus.
  • Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.
  • The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship. Job Qualifications / Experience and Technical Skills:
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Able to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experienced in the set-up and run of 3-axis vertical CNC mills, 4 & 5 axis iss a plus.
  • Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions.
