Job description

Bolivar Medical Center, located in Cleveland, MS, is recruiting an additional General Surgeon to join our employed established team. We are a 164-bed general acute care hospital and are a comprehensive healthcare facility that provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency department services. Our specialists do more than treat illness and injury. Combining state-of-the-art facilities, world-class technology, and advanced clinical programming, we are committed to keeping quality healthcare close to home, with a focus on maintaining and growing quality primary and specialty care services. We strive to ensure every patient and their loved ones have everything they need to feel comforted, every step of their journey to recovery.

 

About the position:

  • Clinic Hours: 8a-5p M-F
  • Schedule: 36 patient care hours 4 admin; Clinic two full days, designated clinic/surgery days
  • Call: 1:3, 5 days/mo built into contract – opportunity to pick up additional call/pay
  • Average # of patients seen per day: 20-25 patients per day (when ramped)
  • Hospital-employment
  • Joining 2 General Surgeons (1 full-time, 1 part-time, 1 one weekend/month)
  • Bread & Butter procedures
  • No robotics
  • Scopes required
  • Covering one hospital only with all surgeries and scopes done at the hospital
  • No trauma
  • Hospitalist team for admissions

Our General Surgery team has 70 years’ combined experience and provides strong mentorship.

Qualifications:

  • BE/BC in General Surgery
  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of MS and DEA with full prescriptive authority
