Job description

Henry's Diner is searching for a host who can work Saturdays and Sundays. This position will also get daily tip out. Seeking a self-starter with multi-tasking skills that will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The main function of a host is to facilitate the prompt and accurate seating and service of all guests. Accept payment for food and beverages and able to make correct changes. Be able to meet and greet guests in a friendly manner, making them feel welcome and comfortable in our dining room, and have the ability to prioritize and maintain control with a smile as pressure arises.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to stand or walk for lengthy periods of time without sitting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Host team leader responsibilities:
  • Warm greetings to all guests upon arrival. Seat guests based on guest preferences and balance customer flow.
  • Check tables for cleanliness, seat guests, and provide menus.
  • Answer the telephone.
  • Take to-go orders and pack them up.
  • Keep a waitlist when tables are not available.
  • Help bus, clean, and sanitize tables.
  • Relay messages to servers as needed.
  • Train and oversee host(s) to ensure they are providing quality customer service.
  • Maintain a clean dining room.
