Position Summary

As the Host/Hostess, you are both the first and last face our Members and guests see when they dine at Portland Golf Club. Your warm welcome, upbeat attitude, and gracious farewell set the tone for the entire dining experience and leave a lasting impression. This role is about making every visit feel special, while keeping the dining room organized and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warm Welcome
    • Greet Members and guests by name with asmile and friendly conversation.
    • Escort them to their table and ensure they arecomfortable.
  • Seating & Flow Management
    • Manage reservations, seating charts, and waitlists with a friendly, organized approach.
    • Keep the dining room running smoothly and minimize wait times.
    • Communicate with service staff about seating, special requests, and timing.
  • Team Support
    • Jump in to help with table resets, menus, phone calls, and other tasks as needed.
    • Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
    • Keep a positive, can-do attitude even during busy shifts.
  • Member Care & Professionalism
    • Maintain a polished appearance and represent Portland Golf Club with professionalism.
    • Handle Member concerns with empathy and escalate to management when needed.
    • Stay up to date on menus, specials, and club events to answer Member questions confidently.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous host/hostess or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
