Job Title: Windows / VMware Admin (Physical Server (ELXI)
Location: Portland, OR
Roles & Responsibilities:
Preferred Skill sets - VMWare Administration, Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, Ivanti Security Control
  • Expert knowledge on Virtualization, VMWare and Microsoft System Center HyperV Administration
  • Expert Knowledge on Microsoft troubleshooting skills and tools Including OS Hardening and Vulnerability Assessment
  • Address escalated issues from the Help Desk involving servers.
  • Troubleshooting Knowledge on TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Power shell scripting
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • ITIL knowledge - Problem Incident Change Management.
  • Strong knowledge on VMware Vsphere(ESXi v7)
  • Ivanti Security Control (Patch Management)
  • Generate query-based collections and Ivanti reports.
  • Monitor all Ivanti primary sites and all Ivanti clients in order to maintain high service availability.

  • Good hands-on command line of ESXi.
  • Install, maintain, and support multiple Windows-based servers on physical and virtual platforms.
  • Maintain a secure computing environment, including adherence to backup schedules, patching, virus updates, application of security controls (including STIGs) and regular security scanning and remediation.
  • Interface with internal customers, program security, and management teams in planning for, maintaining, and resolving issues with services and systems.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • Related certifications may count towards years of related experience.
  • Conducts routine hardware and software audits of virtual hosts and virtual servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of systems.
  • Provide consolidated weekly activity reports to who and when. Report shall contain meeting attendance and outcomes, contacts, project progress and potential concerns for organizational items of interest
  • Troubleshooting on DFS, File servers, Print Servers, Share Permissions etc
  • Troubleshooting on SFX/SFTP related issue.
  • Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
  • Manage Microsoft Windows Active Directory and group policy configurations
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for Ivanti
  • Check Event and Alerts and action on them for CPU, Memory and Datastore high uses alerts
  • Perform known issue resolution for ESXi host or VM's i.e. reading ESXi host in vCenter, specific ESXi service restart etc.
  • Experience/ Knowledge Hardware like Cisco, Dell & HPE.
  • Assist in the design, architecture and deployment of virtualized technology infrastructure to deliver systems and services with high availability and reliability
  • Participate actively in the planning of IT Infrastructure strategy to meet the company's business goals
  • Research and introduce new technologies or enhance existing ones
