Virtual Host information

What is a virtual host?

Virtual Hosts are individuals who host events, meetings, or shows online, typically using video conferencing platforms or live streaming services. Their role involves managing the flow of the event, engaging with the audience, introducing speakers or guests, and ensuring the event runs smoothly. Virtual Hosts may work for corporate webinars, virtual conferences, online workshops, or entertainment broadcasts. Their skills include strong communication, technical proficiency with virtual event tools, and the ability to adapt to live digital environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a virtual host, and why are they important?

To excel as a Virtual Host, you need strong communication skills, proficiency in event management, and a good understanding of digital platforms, often backed by experience in hospitality or customer service. Familiarity with virtual event software like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Hopin, along with any relevant certifications in virtual event planning, is highly beneficial. Outstanding organizational skills, adaptability, and a personable online presence help set you apart in this role. These competencies ensure seamless event execution, high guest engagement, and a positive virtual experience for all participants.

What are some common challenges faced by virtual hosts, and how can they be addressed?

To address these, it's important to become proficient with virtual event platforms, have backup plans for connectivity issues, and develop strong communication skills to keep sessions interactive and organized. Regular coordination with event organizers and rehearsing with speakers can also help prevent last-minute issues and create a smooth virtual experience.

Job description

Overview

About Bi-Mart Corporation

Bi-Mart was started by a few people who thought that their neighbors deserved more for their hard-earned dollars. That's where our $5 lifetime membership stems from. Being a store that wasn't technically open to the public enabled us to discount merchandise at a time when retailers were required by law to sell products at the manufacturer's suggested retail price. More than 70 years later our mission remains the same, to give our customers more, for less.

We are an employee-owned discount retailer with 85 locations across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, dedicated to offering everyday essentials and exceptional value. In our stores, customers find everything a home needs from groceries, cosmetics, and pet supplies to tools for home improvement projects, automotive and RV maintenance, and gear for outdoor adventures like hunting, fishing, camping, and crabbing at the coast. Whether you're stocking up for the week, fixing that honey-do around the house, or treating yourself to your favorite snacks, we are here to be your easy-to-shop, one-stop destination.

This position is responsible for driving training completion across assigned store locations by monitoring employee progress, communicating training requirements, and following up to ensure timely completion.
