Park Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care | Durham, NC

Schedule: Full-time | Four 10-hour shifts | Rotating weekends | Hospital open 7 days a week

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll support our doctors and technicians by:

  • Safely handling and restraining canine and feline patients
  • Assisting with physical exams and medical treatments
  • Collecting laboratory samples and running in-house diagnostics
  • Taking radiographs
  • Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Administering medications as directed by the veterinary team
  • Educating clients on medications, treatments, and preventive care
  • Maintaining accurate medical records
  • Assisting with pharmacy duties and inventory
  • Providing attentive care to hospitalized patients
Qualifications

We're looking for someone who has:

  • At least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Confidence working with both dogs and cats
  • The ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active throughout the shift
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience with Cornerstone practice management software is a plus
  • Fear Free and Cat Friendly handling experience is preferred but not required
