ColonialWebb is seeking an experienced plumbing helper. In this role, you will focus on commercial plumbing in our Special Projects division.

 A day in the life:

  • Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.
  • Cut pipe using pipe cutters, port-a-band saw, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine
  • Thread pipe, using a threading machine
  • Join piping using grooved, threaded, soldered, brazed, fused.
  • Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, copper, and nonmetals, such as  plastic, using hand tools and power tools
  • Join pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints
  • Perform system pressure tests for inspections
  • Test piping systems for leaks
  • Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, water closets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks and water softeners
  • Perform any other task needed to ensure the proper installation and repair of plumbing equipment and components

You should have:

  • Work experience as a Plumber Mechanic for commercial projects. (Journeyman level experience is preferred, but not required)
  • Experience with layouts and ability to read and work from drawings
  • Ability to direct and support the work of a helper or apprentice
  • Safety-minded and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Initiative; self-motivated, self-starter
  • Knowledge of basic construction/shop math
  • Knowledge of International Plumbing Code (IPC)
  • Positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • A reliable source of transportation to and from work
