Job Description

Global Outsourcing Services (GOS) is looking for qualified Security Field Service Technicians in Illinois and surrounding states for low voltage cabling, CCTV, and access control installations, preventative maintenance and repair dispatches in the field. We schedule and complete hundreds of dispatches each week performing work in telecommunications, network infrastructure, video technology systems (CCTV) and access control nationwide. You will be part of the team that supports Illinois and the surrounding states. If you are a qualified technician in any of these areas and are interested in working for a growing company that services fortune 1000 companies, GOS would like to hire you for security field services.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Primary duties of providing physical labor to install and troubleshoot low voltage cabling, CCTV (IP / Analog) systems, and access control cabling.
  • Be safety conscious and abide by company safety policies.
  • Read, understand and follow the company policies and procedures.
  • Take good care of equipment provided by GOS to perform your duties.
  • Attend all scheduled work related training.


Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrate high integrity, honesty, and trust.
  • Must have own transportation to and from work sites.
  • Must be able to travel daily anywhere in Illinois, as well as occasionally out of town.
  • Territory would cover periodic travel to anywhere in the Central Northern US, including such states as: Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and possibly others.
  • Good understanding of fiber, copper, Ethernet and TCP/IP topologies.
  • Strong understanding of CCTV, DVR/NVR's, and Access Controls.
  • Follow directions and work independently.
  • Follow all safety requirements.
  • Oral and written skills and ability to communicate with other workers, craftsman, and other trades.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work off ladders, lifts, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Able to pass a background check.
  • Must have, and be able to work with, hand tools and power tools.
  • Opportunities to travel out of state will be available.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills
  • Expert problem solving skills
  • Low voltage alarm license in Illinois is a plus

The security work includes installation of equipment (cctc, access controls, etc), as well as working with customer help desks to configure equipment. The typical cctv products used are Vivotek, Bosch, Innotech, 3VR, and eMerge. In addition to the installation work we also handle trouble tickets for maintenance and emergency work that are often scheduled for nonstandard business hours or weekends. The work can also include installation of network equipment (switches, routers, etc.), LAN Drops, fiber, as well as working with customer help desks to configure equipment.
