About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Chesapeake, Virginia, 23320!

Job Title

Registered Nurse โ€“ Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Chesapeake, VA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12 or 4x12 shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg / Renal / Diabetes unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:7
  • Manage and monitor patients requiring medical-surgical and telemetry-level care, including renal and diabetic populations
  • Accurately interpret telemetry rhythms including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
  • Document all patient care activities accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
  • Participate in weekend, holiday, and floating assignments as required per contract terms
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of recent, relevant Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN experience
  • Minimum of two years of travel nursing experience
  • Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission โ€” no exceptions
  • Proficiency in Epic EMR โ€” no exceptions
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience caring for renal and/or diabetic patient populations
  • Strong telemetry interpretation skills including interval measurements, complex identification, and rhythm identification
  • Ability to pass a facility-required EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher (one attempt given; no remediation available)
