Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Peds Float Pool position requiring PICU and NICU experience along with VA or compact RN licensure.

Details
  • Pediatric Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, floating to PICU, NICU, peds med-surg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units
  • Cares for critically ill pediatric patients including PICU and NICU populations
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • 13-week assignment with 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Floating required within scope of practice per facility float policy
Requirements
  • Active VA or compact RN license (pending accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
  • Comfort with NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric ED patients required
  • Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience considered in lieu of direct float pool background
  • Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
  • Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required (can be pending at submission)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Prior travel nurse experience preferred, or comparable float pool background
  • BSN preferred
  • Peds PACU experience highly preferred
  • Two professional references required
Additional Information
  • Provide critical and acute care nursing across multiple pediatric units as part of a float pool team
  • Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after offer acceptance
  • No RTO can be approved during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed prior to start date confirmation
  • Previous employment with the facility as permanent staff or a traveler requires a 1-year separation period and leadership approval
  • External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
  • First-time travelers may be considered if candidate has relevant NICU/PICU float pool experience
  • No radius restriction for this position
