Electrical Engineer

Location:

East Boulder Mine - McLeod, MT

Schedule:

5x2, 4x3 9hr Shifts

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the overall electrical installation and maintenance function of equipment, by preparing and modifying drawings, specifications, calculations and monitoring work for compliance with applicable codes, regulations, procedures and standards.

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment, safe work practices, and a strong safety culture.
  • Manage projects from design through commissioning ensuring all as-builts are closed and projects completed to the final specifications.
  • Create and authorize electrical drawings, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs, specifications & calculations.
  • Analyze reports, drawings, tests, and other data to plan and design work.
  • Monitoring compliance with applicable codes, permitting requirements, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Identify and research new technologies and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Produce / review required project budgets, forecasts, scheduling, spending authority, and project reports.
  • Adherence to and promote Change Management protocols.
  • Provide capital equipment requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of mining and maintenance including safety (MSHA Rules & Regulations), maintenance, equipment and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge in applying modern-day technology to improve reliability.
  • Knowledge in executing safety and quality control systems.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Power Point and Excel).

Education & Experience

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Must be able to work any shift, including weekends, as needed.
  • Entry level position (0 - 5 years' experience)
