L3Harris is currently hiring for the role of Contracts Specialist. This position is responsible for conducting proposal preparation, pre-contract data collection, and administering, extending, negotiating and terminating standard and nonstandard government contracts.

Essential Functions:

  • Preparing, negotiating, and administering a large volume of contracts of various types for a variety of customers.
  • Ensuring contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, customer specifications, FAR, DFAR and ITAR.
  • Reviewing RFPs; preparing proposals including engineering changes; performing associated negotiation and defining activities.
  • Performing risk assessment of proposal/contract terms and conditions; formulating and executing strategies to minimize potential risks to the business.
  • Working with customers, management, and program teams to resolve issues, secure approvals, and ensure successful contract execution.
  • Serving as point of contact for the customer during all phases of a program.
  • Generating and maintaining contract documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Requires proficient knowledge of job area.
  • 6+years current experience effectively interfacing with Government customers and other customer organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • May have practical knowledge of project management.ย 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret security clearance.ย 
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with FAR and DFARS required and functional knowledge of SAP input and report generation.
  • Must have hands on experience with ITAR.
  • Must have experience with reviewing RFPs, preparing proposals, negotiation, definitizationย  and administration of DoD Contracts.
  • Must have 6+ years current experience with risk assessment of proposals/contract terms and conditions and strategies to minimize potential risks to the business.
  • Must have experience effectively interfacing at all levels of company management.
  • Must be able to travel as required and on short notice.
  • This position requires the ability to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Current and active Secret security clearance, or higher.
  • Experience in problem solving through creative solutions drawing from prior experience.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Must possess excellent communications skills. Effectively communicate via formal letters complicated and sensitive subjects, possess proper email skills, and possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must have experience and be able to manage complex projects or processes.
  • Must have experience leading a team/project in gathering comprehensive data from multiple disciplines and lead a team to address complex issues and concerns. Problems typically require consideration from multiple areas or specialties.
