About the Opportunity
As a Scale Operator/Weighmaster, you'll play an important role in our daily operations by accurately weighing, grading, and recording incoming and outgoing scrap metal materials. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and assist with material verification, sorting, and disposal procedures
  • Weigh and ticket incoming/outgoing loads using scale systems and software
  • Create accurate and compliant transaction records
  • Grade incoming scrap materials and monitor load quality
  • Direct vehicle and foot traffic safely on and off the scale
  • Process inspection tickets and assist with inventory control
  • Maintain and monitor radiation detection systems
  • Communicate with yard staff regarding incoming and outgoing materials
  • Report discrepancies or quality concerns to management
  • Follow site safety procedures and industry regulations

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Physical & Work Requirements

  • PPE required; work environment may include loud noise levels
