What is a Weekend CMM Programmer PC DMIS?

A Weekend CMM Programmer PC DMIS is a specialized technician who works primarily on weekends to program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using the PC-DMIS software. Their main responsibilities include creating, editing, and running measurement programs to ensure parts meet precise engineering specifications. They play a crucial role in quality control and manufacturing processes by interpreting technical drawings, troubleshooting measurement issues, and maintaining accurate inspection records. This role requires strong attention to detail and familiarity with both CMM hardware and PC-DMIS programming.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend CMM Programmer PC DMIS?

To thrive as a Weekend CMM Programmer PC-DMIS, you need expertise in dimensional inspection, blueprint reading, and a solid understanding of GD&T, typically supported by experience in manufacturing or quality control. Proficiency with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), especially using PC-DMIS software, and familiarity with CAD systems are crucial technical requirements.
