Job Description
The Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for the UCSF Health Network serves as the senior strategic and business development leader for the range of entities within the UCSF Health Network Business Unit (community hospitals, physician foundation, ambulatory sites, and affiliate relationships), functioning as the chief strategy officer. Reporting to the UCSF Health Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, the Vice President is responsible for defining, advancing, and executing a cohesive Network Business Unit strategy that supports UCSF Health's enterprise priorities while responding to distinct market, growth, and partnership dynamics across the Network Business Unit.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare strategy, business development, partnership development, and market assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic planning and growth initiatives within complex healthcare systems.
  • Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and implement partnership and affiliation agreements.
  • Highly advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to translate market and financial analysis into strategic recommendations.
  • Advanced leadership and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate with senior executives, physicians, and external partners.
  • Strong financial and business planning skills including development of business cases and ROI analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with experience facilitating executive-level strategy discussions.
  • Advanced ability to direct, influence and motivate staff, project team members, senior executives, physicians and leaders at partner institutions.
  • Advanced ability to lead business planning, innovation development, and implementation for a multi-faceted health system.
  • Highly advance knowledge of strategic business planning, development, and market assessment,
  • Highly-advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Advanced conceptual skills.
  • Advanced project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly-advanced verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills including the ability to positively interact with executives, providers, and staff at all levels.

Preferred:
  • Experience working in academic medical centers or integrated health systems.
  • Experience managing healthcare partnerships, affiliate networks, or regional provider collaborations.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or closely related field.
