Description
The Biomedical Equipment Technician II performs operational and safety testing, maintenance and repairs on patient care equipment. Responsibilities include technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned medical equipment, repair of damaged medical equipment, and overhaul of medical equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Conduct technical inspections of new, used, or reconditioned medical equipment.
โ€ข Perform maintenance actions, including repairs, calibrations, preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS), and overhauls of medical equipment.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with military and federal regulations regarding biomedical equipment safety and performance standards.
โ€ข Utilize authorized Army Automation Systems, including but not limited to:
โ€ข Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS)
โ€ข Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced (SAMS-E)
โ€ข Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS)
โ€ข Global Combat Support System (GCSS)
โ€ข Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support and equipment updates.
โ€ข Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance actions in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
โ€ข Assist in risk assessment and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
โ€ข Support inventory management and tracking of biomedical equipment.
โ€ข Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new biomedical equipment.
โ€ข Assist in logistics planning and equipment deployment in support of operational readiness.
Travel
Willingness and ability to travel 25-50% based on client needs.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 0630-1500 EST
Qualifications
โ€ข As a minimum, BMET's shall be a graduate of the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Equipment Repairers Course or certified through the International Certification Commission (CBET) or have at least earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Equipment Technology.
โ€ข Minimum two (2) years of experience as a BMET.
โ€ข Must possess knowledge maintenance actions: technical inspections, repair, calibrations/PMCS, and overhaul of medical equipment.
โ€ข Ability to follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
โ€ข Good communication and time management skills.
โ€ข Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.
โ€ข Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer sponsored visa.
โ€ข Experience with the Department of Defense, preferred.
Salary
โ€ข $ 27.64 - $ 31.69 per hour
โ€ข $ 57,500.00 - $65,915 annualized
