Job description

Qualigen is seeking a mechanically inclined intern or recent technical graduate to train directly under our senior maintenance lead. This paid internship offers hands-on mentorship working with automated production equipment and is designed with a direct pathway to a permanent Maintenance Mechanic position.

The Role

You will receive one-on-one training to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot our core automated manufacturing equipment. Your primary focus will be mastering our main production machine—an automated linear indexing conveyor system equipped with precision liquid-filling stations and thermal lamination fixtures.

What You Will Learn & Do

  • Mechanical Drive Systems: Align and service mechanical indexing drives, timing cams, drive belts, gears, and safety clutches.
  • Pneumatics & Fluid Dispensing: Troubleshoot air actuators, solenoid valves, pressure regulators, and precision liquid dispensing pumps.
  • Thermal Bonding: Calibrate and maintain heat-sealing assemblies and temperature controllers.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform routine upkeep on facility utilities, including central air compressors, vacuum lines, and HVAC condenser coils.
  • Diagnostics: Work alongside our senior technician to learn root-cause breakdown analysis and equipment changeovers.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a technical trade program (e.g., Engineering Technician, Electromechanical, Automation, or Biomedical Equipment Technician / BMET) OR possessing an equivalent hands-on mechanical background (e.g., automotive repair, fabrication).
  • High mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hand tools and basic mechanical principles.
  • A learner who is open and eager to absorb specialized machinery knowledge without preexisting bad habits.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly motivated to transition into a long-term, full-time career in industrial manufacturing maintenance.

Why Join Us?

Gain hands-on automation skills from day one, with a potential path to a permanent, full-time mechanic role and full benefits upon completion.
