Job description

The BioMed Department is looking for a BMET II service technician.  In this role you will properly respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, repair and perform planned maintenance (PM) on complex biomedical equipment.

Responsibilties will include but are not limited to:

In this role, the Biomedical Technician II will properly respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on complex biomedical equipment.
Evaluate complex biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs; perform planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections and maintain effective department relations. Follow as well as guide others as needed regarding appropriate hospital policies, procedures, hospital protocol and complete necessary documentation.
Order replacement parts and complete all associated paper work involved in the repair of medical equipment.
Analytical and communication skill with the ability to communicate technical issues to the hospital staff in an easy to understand manner.  Technician must be able to communicate with technical representatives from vendor companies and administrative department heads from other facilities.
Biomedical Technician II will be required to rotate after hours call and be able to respond within a two hour window.


Education and Experience:
Associates degree or higher formal training in electronics or Three (3) or more years experience in medical electronics service and repair.
Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET) desired.
Possess the ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and follow signal flow in complex circuits.
Have the ability to use basic and advanced test equipment and hand tools proficiently.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, lift heave objects and work in awkward positions. Must have high degree of manual dexterity.
Selected candidate can live in the surrounding areas of Shreveport/Bossier, LA.
